Rookie NFL refs earn "much less": €1,900 ($2,000) per game, for around €31,000 ($33,300) per season. NBA refs are professionals "who are dedicated exclusively to officiating." Each referees 82 games per season, earning €6,000 ($6,400) per game. The NBA's European equivalent, the Euroleague, "does not offer as much." Euroleague refs earn €1,100 ($1,200) per game, "not including food and lodging." In football, refs in La Liga are the third-highest paid in Europe. They earn a fixed salary of €10,000 ($10,700) per month, plus an additional €3,500 ($3,800) per game. The EPL pays its referees the most in Europe -- "they do not earn compensation for each game, but make a fixed monthly salary" of at least €24,000 ($25,800). In Serie A, officials earn a monthly salary of €8,000 ($8,600), plus €4,000 ($4,300) per game. In the Bundesliga, "all officials have to hold jobs aside from refereeing." They are paid per game, "without a fixed salary" (DIARIO GOL, 4/19).
