Kawabuchi, honorary president of the JFA, heads a reform task force instigated by the FIBA, "which has banned Japan from international competition until various reforms are carried out." MASAAKI OKAWA, who helped establish the J. League’s third division, "will be the head of the new top-flight basketball league established earlier this month" (KYODO, 4/14). ... DOUGIE FREEDMAN "agreed a new two-year contract" to remain as manager of League Championship side Nottingham Forest. The final details of the deal "are still to be confirmed" but the Scot has signed and believes club Owner and Chair FAWAZ AL-HASAWI is set to do likewise in the very near future. Freedman: "I have signed the contract which he sent me and I have sent it back. It’s done" (PA, 4/16).
