Marketplace Roundup: Molten Renews Deal With British Basketball League

Molten has renewed its sponsorship of the British Basketball League for a fourth term. The new deal, which commences on Sept. 1, is for a five-year period. As part of this latest sponsorship agreement, Molten will provide its new basketball to BBL clubs for use in all BBL games, cup games and championship finals. Molten also supports the BBL’s junior development programs, community projects run by BBL clubs and any other events that the BBL undertakes (BBL). ... Italian coffee brand Lavazza will become the official sponsor of the French Open tennis tournament. The contract will run for three years. Lavazza has been an official partner of Wimbledon since '11, the US Open since February, and a number of other major competitions on the professional circuit (Lavazza). ... Real Madrid "could be set to play in a grey and yellow away kit, if pictures leaked by a website turn out to be accurate." Purelyfootball.com reported that grey "will feature heavily in the European champions' shirts for next year, with the home kit to feature three grey stripes." The pink touches from this season's shirts "will also be dropped, in a return to classic Real Madrid jerseys" (London DAILY MAIL, 4/16). ... Scottish Championship side Rangers published images of its "new home kit" for the forthcoming '15-16 season. The home shirt "is a traditional blue design, emblazoned with the logo of sponsors the 32Red betting company." The response to the design from fans "has been largely positive however some have stated that they will not be buying the new kit until they know exactly who is getting the money" (Scotland DAILY RECORD, 4/16).
