Int'l Swimming Federation (FINA) President JULIO CÉSAR MAGLIONE will complete the late MARIO VÁZQUEZ RAÑA's term as president of the Pan American Sports Organization. Maglione was "elected by acclamation" following a recommendation by PASO's exec committee. Maglione is also a member of the IOC (AP, 4/12). ... Artificial turf manufacturer Act Global has announced the addition of four staff members to its int'l sales and marketing team to strengthen key markets in Europe and Asia-Pacific. Former Greenfields co-founder SJOUKE TJEERDSMA has joined Act Global in Europe as a senior member of the management team. Tjeerdsma will be responsible for business development in specific European markets. VLADIMIR USOV joins Act Global as a sales manager based in Prague to reinforce the company's Eastern European presence, primarily in the Russian market. LUKE SINGLETON has joined Act Global’s Asia-Pacific sales team. Singleton will be responsible for sales in the Far East, servicing existing regional partners and managing FIFA Goal Projects in Asia. NADIA ADEL joins Act Global’s Cyprus office, to provide sales support and customer service for the Asia-Pacific market (Act Global). ... The England & Wales Cricket Board has confirmed that GILES CLARKE has been officially nominated as the first president of the ECB. Clarke will complete his term of office as ECB chairman at the ECB AGM on May 14, when he will become ECB president. The ECB board also agreed that Middlesex CCC Chair IAN LOVETT will be appointed as ECB deputy chairman on the same day. Lovett will replace current Deputy Chair COLIN GRAVES, who will officially start his term of office as ECB chairman at the AGM in May (ECB). ... NATALYA ZHELANOVA was appointed Russia's anti-doping adviser on Friday, but Russian Sports Minister VITALY MUTKO said that the newly created position will be "less senior than originally envisaged." Mutko said in January that he wanted to "change the structure of the sport ministry to create a position in the department" that would "exclusively concentrate on fighting against doping." Mutko: "She (Zhelanova) used to be in charge of the sport ministry's department for anti-doping safety and interdepartmental cooperation. The new appointment is a promotion for her" (REUTERS, 4/10). 

COACHES/MANAGERS: Bolivian football club The Strongest announced that it sacked coach NÉSTOR CRAVIOTTO for "repeated criticisms of the club's execs." The Strongest President CÉSAR SALINAS said, "He does not allow anyone to make a suggestion, constructive criticism. He doesn't know how to listen" (MARCA, 4/10). ... Ecuadorian football club Deportivo Cuenca named former Ecuadorian footballer ALEX AGUINAGA its coach (MARCA, 4/11). ... Serie B side Virtus Entella has sacked coach LUCA PRINA after "sliding into the relegation zone." Prina had been at Virtus Entella for four years and "helped them to promotion into Serie B" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 4/12).
