Marketplace Roundup: Real Madrid Announces Partnership With Electric Automaker Luyuan

Real Madrid and electric car manufacturer Luyuan presented a sponsorship contract in China. It is the first Chinese sponsor contract the club has signed (Real Madrid). ... League Two side Cambridge United announced that Mick George Ltd. will become the sole official playing kit sponsor for the club for the next three seasons until July '18. From the beginning of the '15-16 season all players, within the first team and across all squads from U9’s through to U21’s, will be wearing the Mick George logo on their home, away and third shirts. Mick George first became the club’s home shirt sponsors in '13. Cambridge United CEO Jez George said, "This is the biggest shirt sponsorship deal in the club's history" (Cambridge United). ... Swedish club AIK Fotboll named Myprotein as its "new official supplements supplier." Myprotein "will supply AIK with supplements, exercise equipment and other products as a result of the agreement" (SOCCEREX, 3/30). ... Danske Bank "will remain as sponsors of the Irish Premiership for another season after agreeing an extension of its deal with the NI Football League." The '15-16 season will "be the fourth sponsored by Danske Bank" (BBC, 3/30).

JUMEIRAH TO SPONSOR SR. OPEN: Jumeirah Golf Estates will become a visible stakeholder as a championship sponsor of this year's Senior Open Championship presented by Rolex. The event will take place at Sunningdale Golf Club from July 23-26 with former German golfer Bernhard Langer defending his title. During the Senior Open Championship, Jumeirah Golf Estates' branding will be prominent through signage on the golf course and on its exhibition unit within the Tented Village, the main social hub of the event, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the U.K. (European Tour). 

ATLÉTICO'S SHIRT LEAKED: La Liga side Atlético Madrid's shirts for the '15-16 season will reportedly be inspired by those worn during the '95-96 season, when the club won La Liga and the Copa del Rey. Footy Headlines reported Atlético's '15-16 home shirt will feature five red stripes -- this year's has four white stripes and three red stripes (AS, 3/30).
