Borussia Mönchengladbach Exec Stephan Schippers Calls For FFP In Bundesliga

Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach Managing Dir Stephan Schippers "has called for the introduction of financial fair play in the Bundesliga," according to Kellermann & Klüttermann of the RHEINISCHE POST. Schippers: "You have to think about whether [FFP] should not also be included in our national football regulations. It would be an important step and has to be one of the next duties." UEFA is using FFP regulations to examine clubs, which participate in European competition, "in terms of their economic performances." UEFA "has the power to sanction clubs that violate the regulations." Schippers also welcomed the German Football League's (DFL) decision to limit the investment of companies in multiple clubs. He said, "It was a necessary step in order to gurantee the integrity of the competition" (RHEINISCHE POST, 3/30).
