Budweiser, Sky Sports Initiate Televised Hunt For U.K.'s Best Goal Scorers

Budweiser has initiated a televised hunt to find the U.K.'s best goal scorers in the form of a Sky Sports ad starring Gary Neville, Jamie Redknapp and Ed Chamberlin, according to John Glenday of THE DRUM. Dream Goals will premiere on Monday and "invites amateur footballers to submit videos of their greatest back of the net 'screamers' in order to be in with a chance of appearing" on Budweiser's spring TV ad campaign and on Sky Sports -- "complete with expert commentary from Martin Tyler." Instead of mulling over professional goal scorers, the preview ad depicts the three pundits "debating the merits of a goal scored by 'Tommo' playing for Dynamo Kebab" (THE DRUM, 3/27). CAMPAIGN LIVE reported the campaign was created by Anomaly London. Selected goals will be "shown and analyzed in ads" hosted by Neville, Redknapp, Chamberlin and Tyler and will air on Sky Sports during professional games. The campaign was created to "highlight the brand's support of grassroots football in Britain and subsequently position Budweiser as the beer of choice for fans" (CAMPAIGN LIVE, 3/30).
