German Media Company Constantin Medien Improves '14 Earnings

German media company Constantin Medien AG had a pleasing performance in the '14 financial year and clearly exceeded its original earnings target. Especially in the third and fourth quarter, the business performance developed dynamically. Group sales rose by 6.4% to €487.8M ('13: €458.3M) and were therefore within the upper range of the target of €460M-€500M. Profit from operations (EBIT) reached €21.4M after €7.9M the year before. Group net result (earnings after taxes) improved by €10.3M, reaching €3.9M ('13: €-6.4M). The sales of the sports segment slightly increased in '14 (+0.5%) to €148.2M ('13: €147.4M). Adjusted for the prior year's sales from the former Bundesliga broadcaster LIGA total!, sales grew by a mid-single-digit percentage rate. The sports and event marketing segment with the Swiss marketing company TEAM generated sales of €41.1M in '14, an increase of 3.5% (Constantin Medien).
