Delaware North Signs 25-Year Catering Contract With London Olympic Stadium

Delaware North "landed a 25-year contract to handle the catering operations" for the Olympic Stadium in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, according to James Fink of BUSINESS FIRST. Delaware North Sportservice & Delaware North U.K. President John Wentzell said, "This is a very active stadium." The 53,000-seat stadium "is home" to EPL side West Ham and UK Athletics. It "will also be the host site for five Rugby World Cup games this summer and the 2017 World Athletics Championships." With the deal, Delaware North "has operations in six British stadiums" including Wembley Stadium, plus four airports including London Heathrow and Glasgow and two high-end airport lounges. Wentzell credits Delaware North's U.K. expansion and eye toward other European countries "as part of the company's growth vision" encouraged by Chair Jeremy Jacobs and his sons, Jeremy Jr. and Louis. Wentzell: "We view this as the front line to the main continent." Delaware North co-CEO Louis Jacobs said, "The U.K. operations gives us a whole new sandbox to play and grow in" (BUSINESS FIRST, 3/20).
