Korean Air Becomes Corporate Sponsor Of 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics

South Korea's largest airline, Korean Air, announced Wednesday that it "became a corporate sponsor" of the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, according to the AP. Games organizers have been "struggling to find companies to join its domestic sponsorship program, a critical source of revenue" for the Games. Korean Air, whose Chair Cho Yang-ho took over as head of PyeongChang's Organizing Committee last year, is "just the fifth company to sign on" (AP, 3/18). YONHAP reported Korean Air will "provide passenger services for the Olympic organizers and national team athletes, and also cargo flights to aid the games' operations." Korean Air also "reserves a wide range of marketing rights, including the use of intellectual property" and the use of PyeongChang's logo in its advertising campaigns (YONHAP, 3/18).
