Bundesliga CEO Christian Seifert Says Adjustments To Schedule Not Likely

German Football League (DFL) CEO Christian Seifert "is not expecting a further diversification in terms of kickoff times of the Bundesliga schedule despite increased European competition," according to the SAARBRÜCKER ZEITUNG. Seifert: "If there are adjustments to the game schedule, they will be in a very tight corset -- not at all comparable to Spain." The German cartel office declared the core matchday as the most important criteria for the centralized marketing. Seifert added that there are "zero considerations" of the clubs to change this. However, due to the EPL's new TV deal, Seifert believes that the German clubs are under increased pressure. Seifert said that "it is not pure imagination that the by far richest league in the world could go shopping in the Bundesliga" (SAARBRÜCKER ZEITUNG, 2/27).
