Uruguayan Club Danubio Closes Three New Sponsorships With Brazilian Companies

Uruguayan Primera Division club Danubio FC closed sponsorship deals with three Brazilian businesses, according to Duda Lopes of MAQUINA DO ESPORTE. The sponsorship amounts from Athenas Cintos, Iron Blindados and Rafarillo Calçados, all arranged by Wolff Sports & Marketing, "were not revealed, as agreed by contract." The agreements will at least "generate around" R$100M ($34.9M), but those will vary depending on the club's performance. Danubio's sponsorships will reflect "poorly" on Brazilian clubs in the lead in to the Copa Bridgestone Libertadores as the foreign club will have Brazilian sponsors on its jerseys.The Libertadores champion will pocket $5.3M, and if Danubio wins, the value of the sponsorships will "double" (MAQUINA DO ESPORTE, 2/25).
