Media Notes: La Liga Games On Spanish Free-TV Struggling To Draw Viewers

La Liga games on free-TV have "gone from being one of the most profitable TV products to becoming spaces that never figure in the top five, 10 or 20 most-viewed programs of the day." Audience numbers through 23 La Liga matchdays "prove this." The average audience for these live matches on free-TV is 706,434. Only two matches this year have broken the 1-million barrier: Espanyol-Málaga on the fourth matchday and Celta-Deportivo on the fifth (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 2/18). ... ManU and official global social casino games partner KamaGames unveiled the first in a series of specially designed social casino games for ManU fans worldwide (ManU).

ATLÉTICO EXPLOSION: Atlético Madrid now has approximately 13 million followers on social media. The club's following on Facebook increased by 512% in '14, the "most of any club in the world," ahead of Ligue 1 side Paris St. Germain (120%) and Bayern Munich (127%). Atlético's following on Twitter also increased by 133%. The club now has 10.3 million followers on Facebook and 1.4 million on Twitter (AS, 2/18). Atlético has a presence on five social networks in Spain: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and Google+. It also has a presence in China on Weibo and Youku, the country's equivalent to Youtube. After Wanda Group acquired 20% of the club in January, "China has become a priority." Atlético has 284,000 followers on Weibo (AS, 2/18).
