European Tour Creative Account Up For Grabs As Saatchi & Saatchi Resigns

The European Tour "is preparing to review its creative account, after Saatchi & Saatchi resigned the business it has worked on since 2009," according to Louise McIlwraith of CAMPAIGN LIVE. The agency's last work for the brand will be the upcoming global campaign, "drama on the world stage," due to launch this month. Saatchi & Saatchi Fallon UK Group CEO Magnus Djaba said, "It's always with regret that an agency resigns an account on which it has created great work. But when you no longer share a creative ambition with a client, the time is right to part ways." Saatchi & Saatchi worked with The European Tour since '09 and created the "every shot imaginable" campaign. The campaign "received more than 15 million views on YouTube and was used as editorial content by channels such as Sky." It "also won awards at Creative Circle, the Campaign Big Awards and the British Arrows" (CAMPAIGN LIVE, 2/16). THE DRUM's Jennifer Faull wrote the European Tour said that "it had prepared a Request For Proposals which will be issued shortly to an pre-selected list of agencies." It "declined to comment on which agencies have made that shortlist" (THE DRUM, 2/16).
