CNN International Signs Partnership With McLaren F1; Force India Signs Jose Cuervo

CNN Int'l has agreed to a multi-year deal to join the McLaren F1 team as a partner, according to Alan Baldwin of REUTERS. No financial details were given but the deal will see the global network's branding "appear on the front wing endplates of the new Honda-powered car." McLaren has yet to name a title sponsor and will unveil its MP4-30 car, to be driven by Spain's Fernando Alonso and Britain's Jenson Button this season, in an online launch on Jan. 29. The McLaren partnership, even if "relatively small by Formula One standards, is a leap up the grid for CNN," which most recently sponsored the Caterham team (REUTERS, 1/20).

FORCE INDIA ADDS PARTNER: Sahara Force India announced a partnership with tequila brand Jose Cuervo. The Jose Cuervo logos will appear on the headrest of the VJM08, the drivers' suits and all team clothing (Force India).
