Football Federation Australia put A-League side Newcastle Jets Owner Nathan Tinkler on notice, saying that "it wants to see some major changes and a long-term plan for the club," according to Ray Gatt of THE AUSTRALIAN. A-League CEO Damien de Bohun "made the comments after meeting key Jets officials" in the wake of Tinkler’s about face regarding his investment in the club. After declaring he could not wait to see the club taken off his hands last year, the mining magnate "changed his tune last week, taking over as chairman of the Jets and revealing he wants to continue with the ownership." De Bohun said that FFA "still had concerns about the situation at the club." He said, “We met with key staff of the Newcastle Jets for an update on the club’s operating position. After looking closely at the situation, we still have serious concerns about the stability and sustainability of the Jets in the current circumstances." De Bohun said that FFA "would do everything it could to help the Jets, who are struggling near the bottom of the A-League table." De Bohun: "It’s critical to renew the relationships with key stakeholders" (THE AUSTRALIAN, 1/13).
