Spanish Basketball League (ACB) side Barcelona renewed coach XAVI PASCUAL's contract for "two more seasons," through June '17. His previous contract was set to expire at the end of the current season. Pascual has led the club since '08 (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 12/17). ... Microsoft promoted GM of Global Advertising KATHLEEN HALL to corporate VP of global advertising and media business. Hall "would not confirm" whether the company will have a spot in Super Bowl XLIX in February. She did say Microsoft "enjoyed what happened last year" (ADWEEK, 12/15). ... Bulgaria appointed IVAYLO PETEV as its new coach. The 39-year-old succeeds LUBOSLAV PENEV, who left the post last month. Petev will officially take charge on Jan. 1 having signed a three-year deal with the Bulgarian Football Union (BFS) (UEFA).
