Media Notes: Int'l Equestrian Federation Renews Partnership With European Broadcasting Union

Following the Int'l Equestrian Federation's (FEI) announcement of its renewed partnership with the European Broadcasting Union and IMG through the end of '22, the FEI has now signed a second major multi-year broadcast deal inside a week. The new six-year agreement with Sky Mexico not only secures the longterm on-screen presence of equestrian sport across Mexico and the emerging Central American and Caribbean regions, but also increases coverage of the FEI’s Olympic and non-Olympic disciplines in these territories (FEI). ... Cricket South Africa on Wednesday announced a three-year deal with the South African Broadcasting Corp. that will see the public broadcaster provide live TV coverage of all the Proteas' home int'l matches. There will "also be live ball-by-ball radio coverage on 2000FM" as well as a weekly magazine program on TV (SPORT24, 12/10). ... Sky Sports' coverage of England's one-day victory over Sri Lanka was "interrupted at the worst possible time." With England on the "brink of victory, Sky lost their feed from the ground in Kandy, leaving baffled-looking presenter" Charles Colville and pundit Bob Willis to inform viewers England had won. By the time Sky had "resumed coverage from the stadium, the match was all over" (London TELEGRAPH, 12/11). ... Sports video news agency SNTV has partnered with 6Medias digital press agency, which supplies digital publishers across French-speaking territories, to distribute their sports news video content and enrich 6Medias' video offering. The agreement will allow 6Medias to select from SNTV content for distribution across France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Morocco and French-speaking African nations. It will include news from Ligue 1 and other French domestic football leagues, the UEFA Champions League and Europa League, Euro 2016 qualifiers, major tennis and golf tournaments, the Paris Dakar and World Rally Championship and the IRB Rugby World Cup (SNTV).
