La Liga Real Sociedad President Says Club Recorded 'Historic Profit' Of €24.4M In '13-14

Real Sociedad President Jokin Aperribay said that the club recorded "historic profit" during the '13-14 financial year of €24.4M on revenue of €98.8M and spending of €74.4M, according to Mikel Encinas of MUNDO DEPORTIVO. For the upcoming season, club execs are budgeting revenue of €87.7M ($108M) and spending of €51.8M ($63.8M), which would generate a profit of €35.8M ($44.1M). These figures have Aperribay calling these two financial years "extraordinary in every sense." In just two summers, the club has made €75M on players it has sold. The club's administrative council's intention now is to "consolidate the accounts to provide economic stability for the future." Aperribay "assured that he has outlined a viability plan" through '18. To Aperribay, one of the "most important conclusions to be drawn from the club's financial situation is that after trades, for the first time, Real has a positive net worth and this is very good news" (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 12/3).
