Qatar Airways Announces Partnership With Int'l Premier Tennis League

Qatar Airways partnered with the Int'l Premier Tennis League as the presenting sponsor for the inaugural edition of the event. The IPTL is the "first of its kind initiative" in tennis to encourage a competitive franchise-based competition. It will travel to Manila, Singapore, New Delhi and Dubai. Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker said, “We have a long-standing history of associations with large-scale sporting events." Qatar Airways will undertake on-ground activations to engage with tennis fans across the globe (Qatar Airways). The PTI reported FedEx Express "has been named as the official logistics partner" of the IPTL. The league "is expected to reach over 125 countries and 300 million households internationally" and will be broadcast in the U.S., Brazil, Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa. FedEx "has a history of tennis sponsorship and currently sponsors Roland-Garros in France" and the ATP across 13 countries (PTI, 11/28).
