England & Wales Cricket Board's 2015 Ashes Series To Air Live On Sky Sports

The England & Wales Cricket Board announced that the entire '15 Ashes series will be shown live on TV, according to Richard Hobson of the LONDON TIMES. England women's cricket captain Charlotte Edwards said that in the wake of "groundbreaking full-time contracts and a stand-alone sponsorship deal," she believes that "2014 will be viewed as a 'momentous' year for women's cricket after a third significant step forward." Sky Sports will broadcast the four-day Test match "plus the three one-day internationals and three Twenty20 matches, including a double-header with the men’s fixture pitting England and Australia in Cardiff." The commitment will guarantee "greater exposure to the women’s game, one of the growth areas of the sport." Edwards believes that the recent changes have "taken the game to a level that was unimaginable" for 90% of her career. Edwards: "Things have happened that I could not have dreamt of. To have our games live on television next year shows how far we have come, and it is a strong endorsement of the way our Ashes are structured to build up interest" (LONDON TIMES, 11/12).
