Societe Generale Enters Two-Year Partnership With SCC International Rugby 7s

European financial services company Societe Generale "secured a two-year deal" to become the title sponsor for the Singapore Cricket Club Int'l Rugby 7s, according to ASIA SPONSORSHIP NEWS. The deal "marks the debut of a major corporate sponsor in the oldest sevens rugby tournament in Asia." The deal, reportedly a five-figure sum yearly, "also includes funding for the SCC rugby section as well as the club’s junior rugby academy." In addition to this partnership, Societe Generale "is also sponsoring Hong Kong Valley Rugby Football Club" (ASIA SPONSORSHIP NEWS, 10/31). In Singapore, Lim Say Heng wrote in addition to its support of the tournament, which will be played at the Padang, the Societe Generale "will also sponsor the club's rugby section, as well as its junior rugby academy." It "is also the first time in the club's history that all three tiers of its rugby section has acquired a title sponsor" (NEW PAPER, 11/2).
