Communications, Marketing Group Chime Acquires Athlete Management Firm ABC Sports

Int'l communications and sports marketing group Chime Communications has acquired U.K. athlete management business ABC Sports Management, which has "particular strength in rugby union," according to STOCKMARKETWIRE. ABC, which currently manages the careers of "several leading players" in int'l rugby, will merge with CSM's Essentially, a "leading commercial sales and athlete management agency, with immediate effect." Chime will acquire 100% of the share capital from Christian Abt, Sarah Abt and Stuart Peters. The "initial consideration" is £810,000 ($1.3B), of which 30% "will be funded by the issue of 72,196 new Chime ordinary shares" (STOCKMARKETWIRE, 9/24). IFA MAGAZINE reported ABC's clients include England captain Chris Robshaw and fellow players Brad Barritt, Marland Yarde and Alex Goode, as well as "international stars such as George North, Bryan Habana, Jacques Burger and Ricky Januarie" (IFA MAGAZINE, 9/24).
