German Football Officials Call For Patience In Scheduling Question Surrounding Qatar '22
Bayern Munich Exec Chair Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and German Football League (DFL) CEO Christian Seifert "have called for patience in the scheduling issue surrounding the 2022 Qatar World Cup," according to the SID. Rummenigge said, "I'd have sympathy for a winter World Cup, but a change in date would result in sustainable damage for the Bundesliga and all other European leagues." Seifert has called on FIFA to reduce the potential damage. He said, "The first one, who is responsible for making sure collateral damage stays a minimum, is FIFA. I would like to see an analysis. How warm was it in Brazil and how warm in 1994 in the U.S?" (SID, 9/2).
