Event Notes: England & Wales Cricket Board Reports Domestic T20 Crowds Exceed 700,000

The England & Wales Cricket Board reported record aggregate attendance for T20 cricket, with the competition breaking the 700,000 barrier for season-long attendances for the first time in its 12-year history. The season's aggregate attendance of 704,205 is the highest number recorded since the domestic T20 format was first introduced in '03. The previous record aggregate of 676,753 was set in '10 (England & Wales Cricket Board). ... The facilities for the 2014 Central American & Caribbean Games "are expected to be completed on time and will begin to be presented in September." Mexican State of Veracruz Governor Javier Duarte said, "The Games will be a great window through which we will project Veracruz to the whole world. We have worked and the results are in sight." The Games will take place from Nov. 14-30 (EFE, 8/25). ... The Int'l Cricket Council announced that Namibia will host the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Division 2 from Jan. 17-24. Six teams will compete in the event, with the top teams earning promotion to both the ICC WCL Championship and the four-day ICC Intercontinental Cup (ICC).
