AFL Slams Seven For 'Disrespectful' Coverage Of Controversial Score-Review

The Australian Football League "slammed Channel Seven's 'disrespectful' coverage of a controversial score-review," according to Liam Mannix of the SYDNEY MORNING HERALD. AFL side Geelong player Hamish McIntosh "appeared to intercept a Sam Mitchell set-shot on the goal line." Following a goal review, "the Hawks were given a behind." Seven "showed two camera angles, one indicating the ball was over the goal line before McIntosh touched it and the other inconclusive." The broadcaster "neglected to show vision from the far-post goal camera, which clearly showed McIntosh touching the ball before it crossed the line." Channel Seven's on-air commentators "then criticised the review decision." AFL Football Operations Manager Mark Evans said, "We need to have some conversations with the broadcaster to make sure they show the right angle." Evans said that Seven "would be making an on-air apology for the coverage" (SMH, 8/24).
