Marketplace Roundup: Second Bundesliga Side Greuther Fürth Renews Deal With Infra Until '18

Second Bundesliga club Greuther Fürth signed an early contract extension to its deal with local energy provider infra. The previous deal, which was set to expire in June '16, was extended and now runs until June 30, 2018. In addition, infra will increase its sponsorship engagement and become an exclusive partner of the club (Greuther Fürth). ... The Ladies European Tour and Golf Club St. Leon-Rot "selected Abacus Sportswear, the Swedish technical clothing brand and pioneer of high-performance stretch waterproof fabrics," as the official apparel supplier of the 2015 European Solheim Cup Team. The new contract continues the brand’s long-standing association with the LET, "which has seen Abacus Sportswear dress the team for the past four editions of the biennial golf tournament" (GOLF MAGIC, 8/18). ... Yingli Green Energy Holding Company announced that it has installed a solar power system on the roof of Bayern Munich's training facility on Sabener StraBe. The Yingli Solar power system has a capacity of 29.2 kWp. With the new system, the football club now is able to generate its own renewable energy which has a positive impact on the environment by reducing 21,000 kg of harmful CO2 emissions annually (Yingli). ... The LPGA announced that Lotte has extended its title sponsorship of the LPGA Lotte Championship for an additional three years. The LPGA Lotte Championship will be held in Kapolei, Oahu, Hawaii. The total purse of the LPGA Lotte Championship will grow in '15 to $1.8M, an increase of $100,000 over '14. Lotte’s extension with the LPGA Tour aligns with its goals of continuing to contribute to the growth of Korean women’s golf (LPGA). ... The Dubai-based MBC Group "is eyeing rights to cover European football leagues as part of its most recent expansion which involved the launch of four new sports channels." MBC Chair Sheikh Waleed al-Ibrahim said that the group is considering leagues which "have no commitments at this stage." Al-Ibrahim said, "There is nothing stopping us to bid for other leagues once their current broadcasting rights contracts expire" (AL ARAYIBA NEWS, 8/19).
