Indian Super League Football Tournament Unveils 49-Player List For International Draft
The IMG Reliance and Star India-promoted football tournament, the Indian Super League, has finalized the 49 int'l players "for the inaugural season," according to the Indian BUSINESS STANDARD. The league has managed to rope in players like Bojan Djordjic from Sweden who has played for ManU in the past and Michael Chopra, "a product of the Newcastle United Youth System." Of the 49 players in the league, "seven have been directly signed on by franchises" while 42 will be up for drafting on Thursday. The other 42 int'l players represent countries like Spain (9 players), France (8), Czech Republic (8), Brazil (5), Portugal (5), Colombia (4), South Korea (2), and one each from Argentina, Canada, Serbia, Senegal, Burkina Faso, England, Greece and Cameroon (BUSINESS STANDARD, 8/18).
