Mexican Football Federation To Leave Mexico City Location For New Facility In Toluca

The Mexican Football Federation (FMF) will leave Mexico City in a move to land "adjacent to the Toluca airport," according to Ricardo Magallán of LA AFICION. The FMF is "counting on the construction of a mega sports complex that will include headquarters for the FMF, Liga MX and fields for the national teams, among other things." The new home of Liga MX and the FMF will be located in the San Pedro Totoltepec municipality in Toluca. The project has identified Jan. '16 as the date for completion. The objective of "changing the site of the headquarters is to combine the different departments of the FMF in one place." The current High-Performance Center (CAR), the home of the national teams, "will continue to belong to the FMF." The project will include the construction of "several fields, of both natural and synthetic grass, gyms, locker rooms, lodging and dining rooms for the national teams" (LA AFICION, 8/5).
