Spanish Basketball Club Bilbao Pushing For Reinstatement In Spanish Basketball League

Spanish basketball club Bilbao President Xabier Jon Davalillo "has been pushing for weeks" to convince the Spanish Basketball League (ACB) to reinstate his club, according to Juanma Velasco of MARCA. Bilbao released a statement claiming that it has "turned in all the necessary documentation in which it irrefutably proves its solvency and and presents an economic viability plan for the upcoming seasons." The statement added that the club has deposited a guarantee of around €240,000 ($320,800). Bilbao's viability plans "also include contributions from a nominal sponsor that would guarantee stability in the upcoming seasons and plan to regulate payments." The ACB "will not delay its decision and Bilbao expects a decision to be made soon, possibly this week" (MARCA, 8/5).
