League Notes: Former Essendon Fitness Chief Hands Out 17 Subpoenas In $1.9M Court Case

Former Australian Football League side Essendon High-Performance Manager Dean Robinson "has handed out 17 subpoenas" as part of his A$2M ($1.9M) court case against the Bombers, with former club Chair David Evans even asked to "explain any investment opportunities" he may have had with peptide and supplement companies (THE AGE, 8/4). ... A father of five from Wales "was given the first lifetime sports ban by the U.K.’s anti-doping body for supplying anabolic steroids." U.K. Anti-Doping said in a statement that Philip Tinklin was prosecuted alongside his daughter Sophie, an amateur boxer and the '13 Welsh women’s 48 kilogram champion, for “multiple anti-doping rule violations” including possession and trafficking of prohibited substances (BLOOMBERG, 8/4). ... Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif on Monday "appointed a retired judge to hold elections for the country's cricket chief within a month, hoping to draw a line under a long-running crisis." The post of Pakistan Cricket Board chairman "has been held by rivals Zaka Ashraf and Najam Sethi five times each since May last year, leading to widespread ridicule at home and abroad." The Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination which handles sport said that Judge Sair Ali "would oversee the process" (AFP, 8/4).
