Facility Notes: Trent Bridge Receives Int'l Cricket Council Warning After Pitch Rated 'Poor'

The Trent Bridge cricket ground "has been given a warning" by the Int'l Cricket Council after its pitch was rated "poor" following the first Test between England and India (PA, 8/4). ... The Valencia, Spain City Council's Esquerra Unida political party has urged that "any plan for a new stadium prioritize agreements adopted with the neighbors in the affected areas." An EU party spokesperson suggested that La Liga sides Valencia and Levante share a stadium (EFE, 8/4). ... Moscow Regional Governor Andrei Vorobyov "confirmed that 12 training sites will be upgraded for the 2018 World Cup in Russia." The cost of reconstructing the training grounds "is estimated at" 130M rubles ($3.6M) per facility. To meet FIFA requirements, the training grounds "will have lighting installed as well as some spectator seating and improved changing room facilities" (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 8/4).
