Media Notes: StarHub Reorganizes Sports Channels Starting On Aug. 15

StarHub announced a "reorganisation of its self-packaged sports channels" under its Sports Group from Aug 15. These channels -- currently known as Football Channel, Racquet Channel, SuperSports, SuperSports Plus and Sports HD -- "will be repackaged into SuperSports 1 (Ch201), SuperSports 2 (Ch202) and SuperSports 3 (Ch203)." Together with SuperSports Arena, an existing free cable channel, the three channels "will augment StarHub's sports line-up with a richer and wider mix of programming" (STRAITS TIMES, 8/3). ... The official website of Beijing and Zhangjiakou's joint bid to stage the 2022 Winter Olympics "was launched on Thursday -- exactly a year before the host will be chosen." The site -- www.beijing-2022.cn -- "contains eight major sections giving information about the Winter Olympics, the bid process and the two cities." All the information "is presented in three languages, Chinese, English and French" (CHINA DAILY, 7/31)
