Franchise Notes: Valencia Majority Shareholder VCF Foundation To Vote On Sale On Thursday

La Liga side Valencia majority shareholder VCF Foundation will vote on Thursday on "whether to sell a 70% stake in the club to Peter Lim." During the vote, "VCF Foundation will decide whether to sell the shares to Peter Lim and make him the club's majority shareholder." Two points "will be finalized in the upcoming weeks: Lim's Meriton Holding's agreement with lender Bankia on the refinancing of the club's debt; and what will be done regarding the Porxinos project and the future of the Mestalla stadium" (AS, 7/28). ... Kenston consortium has taken over third-tier German hockey club Füchse Duisburg with immediate effect (Füchse Duisburg). ... League championship side Sheffield Wednesday confirmed a takeover by Azerbaijani businessman Hafiz Mammadov "has been delayed." The Owls initially announced the change of ownership on June 10. The club said that "the completion has been delayed because Mammadov has been dealing with his other business interests in his homeland." The  club added that it hopes "to update supporters again prior to the first game of the season" on Aug. 9 (BBC, 7/27).
