Scottish Championship Side Rangers' Board Denies Considering Selling Ibrox Stadium

Scottish Championship side Rangers' board said that it will "not enter into a sale and leaseback agreement over Ibrox," according to the BBC. Fans recently marched to the club's ground to "demand assurances that the stadium would not be used as security against future borrowings." Concerns over Rangers' "current financial position prompted the march." A statement on the club's website said, "The board is committed to protecting the assets of the club for the benefit of all Rangers fans" (BBC, 7/27). The statement "made no mention of plans for the Murray Park training base" (Scotland DAILY RECORD, 7/28).
