Event Notes: First Ironman World Championship In Southern Hemisphere To Be Held In '16

Queensland's Sunshine Coast will host the first Ironman World Championship held in the Southern Hemisphere. The Ironman 70.3 World Championship will be staged in Mooloolaba in Sept. '16. The event expects to attract 3,000 athletes from more than 70 global qualifying events in locations such as Australia, Japan, Spain, South Africa and the Americas (Ironman). ... Infront Sports & Media announced it is launching a new mass participation series for amateur runners in China. The series will launch on Aug. 30 in Beijing (Infront).
