Serie A Side Juventus Presents Building Project Including Training Ground, Hotel

Serie A side Juventus has presented its new project, "building a training ground, hotel, stores" and an int'l school next to the stadium, according to FOOTBALL ITALIA. The Bianconeri already became the "first Serie A club to build and own their stadium, but have struck another deal with the Turin council to expand." Approval arrived on Tuesday for the club to have a "99-year lease on the 180,000 sqm Continassa area -- behind the Juventus Stadium -- to build a new training camp for the squad, a hotel and a Concept store." This will include a "park, a monument in honour of the Heysel victims and a new road." Juventus GM Aldo Mazzia confirmed "between the stadium, Juventus Museum and this other extension, the project requires" a €340M ($458M) investment. The club bought the rights to the land for 99 years at a cost of €12M and "claim it will create 300 jobs in the area" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 7/22).
