The All England Club said that there were "safety concerns about the 'little old roof,'" adding that the gate was "just to make it easier for them." Andy Murray's mother, Judy, said that "she had been worried about her son's safety while he was on the roof after his historic singles victory last year." She said, "I was more concerned that he was going to fall through the flimsy roof he was standing on." Wimbledon spectators on Thursday criticized the All England Club's approach.
