Dutch Side ADO Den Haag Reveals New Owner China United Vansen Sports

More than 100-year-old Dutch football club ADO Den Haag announced Tuesday "its new Chinese owner, China United Vansen Sports company," according to XINHUA. Li Chun, CEO of Dong Dao, which arranged the purchase, said, "The purchase won't change any Dutch football attribute of ADO Den Haag, only except a more ambitious goal with a bit more financial investment." Li added, "We will keep ADO as a typical Dutch club, the management team, commercial and marketing team, the technical team and youth academy will be all operated by Dutch experts." ADO and the buyer did not "leak the exact money of this purchase." However, an "extra fund" of €5M-€10M ($7M-$14M) will be invested by United Vansen Sports for those goals (XINHUA, 6/24). Reuters reported the club's majority shareholder Stichting Stadion Ontwikkeling has "agreed in principle to the sale" and final details will be worked out over the next months. SSO official Mark van der Kallen said, "The Chinese have promised to invest millions of euros" (REUTERS, 6/24).
