Swansea City Agrees To Two-Year Shirt Sponsorship Extension With Goldenway

EPL side Swansea City has agreed to a two-year shirt sponsorship extension with Chinese finance firm Goldenway Global Group (GWFX) "which is the biggest in the club's history," according to the South Wales EVENING POST. The deal is "thought to be worth" in excess of £4M ($6.7M) to Swansea, "making it the largest they have ever signed." Their previous agreement with GWFX, which saw them sponsor Swansea last season, "is believed to have earned the club" around £2M ($3.3M) (EVENING POST, 6/18). In Cardiff, Chris Wathan reported the Swans will "release their new shirts for the new season this weekend" with the GWFX and a 24k.hk logo set to adorn the adidas strip. The club also revealed that talks are planned for a future Asian tour "as they look to build on the Far East profile gained by their three seasons to date in the Premier League" (WALES ONLINE, 6/18). Goldenway said in a release that it plans to tap into an Asian fan base that makes up more than 30% of total global audiences (Goldenway).
