Franchise Notes: Barcelona Appoints Emili Sabadell To New Position As First Team Director

Barcelona announced on Wednesday that Emili Sabadell, previously the club's "director of operations and facilities," will become the director of Barça's first team. It is a "newly created position that makes him responsible for the operations and logistics surrounding the first team's off-field activity" (EP, 6/18). ... A legislative change passed by Navarre, Spain's government will allow Spanish second division side Osasuna to "designate a temporary managing board without having to hold a vote among club members." The "new board will have to hold elections within three months." This "comes about thanks to a decree regarding cases of extraordinary and urgent necessity" and will take effect on Thursday when it is published in the Official Bulletin of Navarre (EFE, 6/18).
