Spanish Basketball League (ACB) Exec President Francisco Roca "is going to bring about changes with respect to his predecessor," according to José Luis Martínez of MARCA. Roca is proposing to "recover an interest in basketball and improve anything damaging the product." Roca: "If there are not promotions and relegations it is because something in the system is failing. Due to the economic crisis, it has become very difficult to meet minimum requirements." In his "first meeting with the media since taking over, Roca said that the ACB will become more flexible." Roca: "In a few months I will propose to the clubs a range of medium term measures to make promotion regulations more simple from the economic point of view. The complaints have a foundation. This will be accompanied by economic supervision that will guarantee that clubs are able to compete. This is not a punishment, but athletic criteria cannot be the only requirement." Roca added that there is a "pre-agreement with TVE to renew for two years the ACB's TV contract in a way that will reward the interest of ACB's top sponsors" (MARCA, 6/17).
