League Notes: Srinivasan Can Contest Election For Int'l Cricket Council
Suspended Board of Control for Cricket in India President N. Srinivasan "can go ahead with contesting the election" for Int'l Cricket Council president as the Supreme Court Thursday "declined to entertain a plea by Cricket Association of Bihar to restrain him from joinig the poll." Declining to pass any order, the apex court bench of Justice J.S. Khehar and Justice C. Nagappan said that the earlier order of the court "was clear and there was no conflict" (IANS, 6/12). ... BCCI officials have sought an appointment with India's new prime minister. They want to treat it ''as a courtesy visit as Modi was one among them not too long ago." BCCI interim President Shivlala Yadav said, "We want to meet him and felicitate him. He was the president of GCA and all our officebearers will go and honour him" (MUMBAI MIRROR, 6/12).
