Australian Football League Carlton Recruiting Manager SHANE ROGERS "is on the verge of walking out on the club" in the belief that Blues powerbroker BRUCE MATHIESON and incoming Chair MARK LOGIUDICE "have been orchestrating his removal." Negotiations at Visy Park on Tuesday between the club’s "recently maligned national recruiting boss" and Carlton CEO ANDREW MCKAY "looked likely to see Rogers depart the club with a settlement less than four months before the 2014 trade period and without a certain replacement" following Hawthorn’s refusal to release GRAHAM WRIGHT from his new contract (THE AGE, 6/10). ... The Australian F1 Grand Prix winner's trophy "will be named in honour of triple world champion" JACK BRABHAM. Brabham, who "is unique in Formula One history as the only driver to win a world title in a car bearing his own name," the Brabham BT19, died at the age of 88 on May 19 (AAP, 6/10).

HORSE NAMES: WILLIAM RUCKER and WILLIAM VESTY have both been appointed to on to the Cheltenham racecourse committee by The Jockey Club. Rucker has enjoyed notable success with his Grand National runners in recent years while Vesty's father, SAMUEL VESTY, was chairman for more than 20 years (Racing UK). ... Godolphin's MICKAEL BARZALONA will leave Moulton Paddocks where "he stuck it out" during the MAHMOOD AL ZAROONI doping crisis and "return to France." Barzalona "becomes the latest to leave the international racing operation" of Ruler of Dubai SHEIKH MOHAMMED BIN RASHID. Barzalona "will be taken back" under ANDRE FABRE's wing, "from where he emerged onto the world stage in 2011 when he won the English Derby" on POUR MOI (THE NATIONAL, 6/9).
