Qatar FA Announces New Rules Regarding Relegation, Promotion, Transfers

The Qatar FA has announced new competition rules, including new rules regarding relegation and promotion, according to THE PENINSULA. Any of the top five Qatar Gas League teams next season who are not reserve teams "will automatically qualify for the Qatar Stars League." The issue of venues for next season "was also discussed." Player transfer regulations "were also deliberated at the meeting." The new regulations state that any player released by a club in the last few days of the January transfer window "will be able to make an appeal to move to another Qatari Club or abroad." In addition, any QSL player who does not participate in the first six matches with his club is "then eligible to move to another club if he so wishes" (THE PENINSULA, 5/28).
