Regional Public Broadcasters HR, WDR Score High Ratings With 2nd Bundesliga Relegation

German regional public broadcasters HR and WDR "have recorded more than 2 million viewers for their broadcasts of the 2nd Bundesliga relegation matchup between Bielefeld and Darmstadt," according to Manuel Weis of QUOTENMETER. The game's first half on WDR attracted 920,000 viewers and had a market share of 3.2%. In the target demographic 14-49, the first half obtained a 1.5% share. During the second half of the match the viewership increased to 1.51 million. The number translated into a market share of 6.1% and 4.3% in the target demographic. HR, which also aired the game, attracted 530,000 viewers to its broadcast shortly after 9:30pm. The market shares were 2.4% and 2.1%, respectively. The combined ratings of both broadcasters for the game, which ended with Darmstadt's promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga, was 2.04 million viewers and market share of 8.2% (QUOTENMETER, 5/20).
