League Championship Side Leeds United Hires Former Player As Consultant

League Championship side Leeds United has "appointed former Sheffield Wednesday, Aston Villa and Bradford City forward Benito Carbone as a consultant," according to the BBC. The 42-year-old Italian "will be involved in football and technical operations" with both the first team and the academy side. Carbone "has previously managed in the Italian fourth tier" (BBC, 5/15). The PA reported Carbone "has a remit to advise the new board of directors at Elland Road on first-team matters." Leeds Owner Massimo Cellino cast doubt on the future of Manager Brian McDermott "in an interview with ITV's Calendar on Wednesday when he questioned the manager's decision to take a holiday" (PA, 5/15)
