PCB Chair Sethi Confirms Six Pakistan-India Cricket Series Beginning In December 2015
Pakistan and India "signed on to play six full bilateral series between 2015 and 2023, the first of which, at the end of next year, is likely to take place in the UAE," according to Osman Samiuddin of THE NATIONAL. The first of those series will take place in Dec. '15 and, according to the agreement, will be played in "the UAE or a mutually agreed venue." Sethi said that four of the six series are designated as Pakistan home series, which means, "depending on the security situation inside Pakistan, the UAE could see as many as four series between the two rivals till 2023" (THE NATIONAL, 5/15). The AFP reported the series will be the first since the '08 Mumbai terrorist attacks suspended play between the teams. PCB COO Subhan Ahmed said the six tours would involve "14 Tests, 30 one-days and 12 T20s." Pakistan has not hosted any int'l cricket "since terrorist attacks on the Sri Lankan team bus in March 2009" (AFP, 5/14).
