Football Notes: Cost Of Champions League Final Tickets As High As $11,000 On Resale

The prices at which some tickets for the Champions League final on May 24 are being sold have "already reached" €8,000 ($11,000) for a section of seats called "Category 1." Those tickets had an original cost of €390 ($535), meaning the price "has increased by 1,951%." The Category 1 tickets "were the most expensive found on Internet ticket resale sites including tengoentradas.com, ticketbis.com and seatwave.es, where prices range" from €850-€8,000 ($1,200-$11,000) (LIBERTAD DIGITAL, 5/12). ... Colombian Football Federation President Luis Bedoya calculated that "at least 12,000 Colombians will travel to Brazil to see their team play in this summer's World Cup."
