Football Notes: Cost Of Champions League Final Tickets As High As $11,000 On Resale

The prices at which some tickets for the Champions League final on May 24 are being sold have "already reached" €8,000 ($11,000) for a section of seats called "Category 1." Those tickets had an original cost of €390 ($535), meaning the price "has increased by 1,951%." The Category 1 tickets "were the most expensive found on Internet ticket resale sites including tengoentradas.com, ticketbis.com and seatwave.es, where prices range" from €850-€8,000 ($1,200-$11,000) (LIBERTAD DIGITAL, 5/12). ... Colombian Football Federation President Luis Bedoya calculated that "at least 12,000 Colombians will travel to Brazil to see their team play in this summer's World Cup." Colombia will compete against Greece, Ivory Coast and Japan in Group C (DPA, 5/13).
